Press – Judy in The Economist (sort of)

12 Jun

Alebrije Estudios was featured in an article in The Economist! Imagine the joy I felt telling my dad, who’s 100% business man, that through music I somehow managed to sneak my way into that publication… hahaha! I love it.

The article (in Spanish, translation coming soon) talks about how Alebrije was formed, the company approach and goals, and the rise of the video game market in recent years.

Megatrax is a licensing company in Los Angeles. They have a library of music in their control and they are dedicated to placing those tracks on Film/TV.

In May, composer Joey Peters and I wrote an instrumental track for them that will be part of their “Lifestyles” collection, which is music for potential placement in cooking shows, style shows, that kind of thing.

Megatrax’s credits include 24, Scrubs, Medium, Crash (the movie), CSI and so on.

Alebrije Estudios, a videogame company I work for, was one of the winners at the 2008 TIC AMERICAS competition for young innovators and entrepreneurs! Congratulations guys!

Alebrije Estudios was among 29 finalists, picked from 854 companies, who participated in the competition on May 29-30 in Medellin, Colombia.

The company received the award for Creative Design and this will give us the opportunity to present the company at TIC GLOBAL in Taipei on August 2nd.

Several folks from the team traveled to Colombia to represent the company and they had a great time talking business with everyone there.
