Blonde Charity Mafia Airs on MTV

25 Jul

Just got word that Blonde Charity Mafia aired earlier this year on MTV Australia and New Zealand. “Don’t Run Away”, a song co-written by Michele Jusko and me (Michele sings it), was used in the 3rd episode. The song starts at around the 15:35min mark.

Blonde Charity Mafia is a reality show that follows three Washington D.C. socialites while they organize chairity functions and try to keep the cat fights down to a minimum. :D

Holy Cow! We played at a Farm!

5 Sep

This is, by far, one of the coolest things I’ve ever done in my life. I got a call from Natalie Nicole saying, “Judith, do want to play at a Farm?”

Of course!!!!!!!

We spent the day at the Denham Farm, somewhere north of LA. Got to see cows and pigs, and I even chased a chicken (just a little… I’ve aaalways wanted to do that. Bad, Judy!).

We played “Can’t Save Myself” and I backed Natalie on guitar on several of her songs.

Check out some pictures!

The entire day was surreal. Being away from the city, surrounded by strawberry fields… or raspberries, I think. Those kind of experiences that are good for the soul.

And the SOUND. The sound system was amazing. Best monitor mix I’ve ever heard in my life! That’s always a treat.

Life is good.

Love,
Judy

House Concert

15 Aug

Thanks (yet agaaaain!) to Natalie Nicole Gilbert for inviting Alan Bruni and me to perform at a house concert. House concerts are the best. A very gracious host usually organizes a small party. You attend said party, perform, and then continue on partying. I spent the night getting to know a lot of people, eating shrimp and brownies (not at the same tiiiime!), and having a lovely evening.

Natalie Nicole Show at the Cat Club!

3 Aug

Performed with Natalie Nicole Gilbert and her band at the Cat Club in Hollywood tonight! Can’t tell you what an amazing person Natalie is. There are no words. I’m happy I get to work with her and be her friend.

Dana, thanks for letting me play with your guitar. It’s infinitely nicer than mine. I didn’t want to give it baaaaack. Hahaha!

Click here to check out Natalie’s Facebook page and become her fan!

Thanks to Kevin for filming the show!

And finally, thanks to all the folks that came out and supported us.

Rehearsing with Natalie Nicole

1 Aug

On August 3rd, I’m going to be joining Natalie Nicole Gilbert and her band for a couple of songs at the Cat Club in Hollywood.

Today, we had our first band rehearsal. The band is awesome. Natalie Nicole on vocals, Matt Riley on Keys, Dana Bisignano on Guitar and Bass, and Alan Bruni on percussion.

I’m playing Guitar on two songs Natalie Nicole and I co-wrote a few months ago. “Waiting” and “Can’t Save Myself”.

Check out this video of our rehearsal and come hang out with us on August 3rd!

Trailer Cues

3 Jul

Hey guys,

I had a chance to collaborate with composer Josef Peters on three trailer cues. (By trailer cues I mean the background music that is used for movie trailers, TV show trailers, etc.) That kind of music is a lot of fun to write. Aaand, the coolest part is that after writing these pieces, I got to record vocals for 2 of them, and then weird whisper effects on the third piece. Niiiiiice.

Those tracks have been licensed by Megatrax for their X-Factor 3 compilation, which is a collection of music and sound design for promos, trailers, and games.

Life is good! Hope you’re well and happy.

Love,
Judy

2 New Songs on iTunes

11 Apr

I recently recorded two songs for a collection called Acoustic Cafe Series, released by Summit Songs. It’s a CD that features 3 artists (Bron Hogan, Justin Sheehy, and yours truly). It’s very laid back and pretty :)

The new songs are “Forget the Lines” (cowritten with Lisa Mazzotte) and “Secret” (written by Lisa Mazzotte). As always, working with Lisa and engineer Antonio Resendiz was a lot of fun!

They’re now available on iTunes:

As always, thank you for supporting indie musiiiiic!

Judith

Speed-Songwriting

15 Dec

Today, I got to write a song with Nicole Gilbert.

We started working, and this is what happened…

Nicole played a chord on her guitar. I played another chord on mine. That was our verse. We immediately found a melody and lyrics and moved on to a chorus that basically wrote itself. The song was finished in less than an hour!

I love it when things work out so well! :) The song is called “I’ve Been Waiting.”

Nicole, you rock!

In the Studio with Summit Songs

12 Dec

Yesterday, I got to spend a few hours at Westlake recording two tracks for Summit Songs. The first song was written by Lisa Mazotte, and the second song is one Lisa and I  co-wrote a few weeks ago!

I got to sing into a gorgeous Sony C-800, my favorite mic. :) It gives vocals a very bright, airy vibe that I absolutely love. I wish I sounded like that all day…

We got the basics done, and now we need to add a few things here and there.

Love,
Judy

Blonde Charity Mafia

Yeaaaaaaaaah!

“Don’t Run Away,” a song Michele Jusko and I cowrote will be featured in the upcoming TV series Blonde Charity Mafia on Lifetime TV. The song’s on the 3rd episode (air dates to be released).

Blonde Charity Mafia is the nickname three of the show’s main characters have given themselves, due to their reputation for throwing elaborate parties that raise money for charitable causes in Washington, D.C.

The song is also the first track on Michele’s new album, The Great Unknown.
